A New E-Course From Elle & Company!

Many times in blogging and in business I come across design needs, whether it's a tweak to my website, a graphic for a giveaway, or a simple blog post image. As a full-time graphic designer I have the ability to do all of the above quickly and easily in Adobe Illustrator, but I realize that my situation isn't the norm for most bloggers and creative entrepreneurs. Many of my colleagues and clients have voiced their struggle with learning design software and designing for themselves, so I came up with a solution to help them meet their design needs...

New Adobe Illustrator E-Course from Elle & Company | Elle & Company

Starting in April, Elle & Company will be offering an online e-course on Adobe Illustrator, geared specifically towards bloggers and business owners!

How this course works

Because software is best learned through live instruction and practice, the course will be taught through 5 live 90-minute webinars. I'll spend the first 60 minutes teaching on the ins and outs of the software and the last 30 minutes Q&A. The courses will also be recorded and made accessible to attendees, just in case they aren't able to tune in live or want to see something explained again.

What's included

In addition to 450 minutes of live instruction on the software, I'm also providing each attendee with access to a class forum for feedback and questions throughout the week, as well as a helpful course guide PDF for extras like keyboard shortcuts, tool definitions, function how-to's, and notes.

Who it's for

Calligraphers who want to learn how to digitize their lettering.
Bloggers who want to add buttons to their sidebar and create branded blog images.
Event planners who want to create inspiration boards for their clients.
Photographers who want to design and update pricing guide PDFs.
Self-taught graphic designers who have no formal training with the software.
Interior designers who want to create mock-ups of their clients' spaces.
Writers who want to design an e-book.
All business owners who want to create collateral items like business cards, contracts, marketing materials, infographics, giveaway images, social media cover images, and more!

THIS COURSE WILL COVER

  • Navigating the workspace
  • Drawing basics
  • Working with color
  • Working with type
  • Creating special effects
  • Aligning and transforming objects
  • Working with web graphics
  • Using live trace
  • Printing and saving files

Required Course Materials

You will need a computer with internet access and Adobe Illustrator. I recommend buying an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription, which gives you monthly access to the latest version of the software. Adobe also offers a free trial for Adobe Illustrator here.

Dates & Pricing

The first 5-week course will take place April 4th through May 2nd, and the live 90-minute webinars will stream on Saturdays from 10:30am to 12:00pm EST. The price of the course is $250 per attendee.

Registration

Registration for the first course will open next Tuesday, March 10th at 12pm EST. I'm keeping the class size to 40 people so that I can get to know each participant, learn their goals, and tailor the content to best meet their needs. The seats might go fast, so mark your calendar and visit the new course page on March 10th to grab your spot!
